So I'm on the way to work in my sisters car and this lady in the Range Rover manages to find my rear bumper when she is unable to stop for a red light.

9.9.2004TH-400 Switch Pitch Articles
After blowing up more TH 700-R4s then I care to remember, I finally gave up on them and went to the TH-400. I decided on a switch pitch version of the TH-400 so that I could still have solid off the line acceleration, thanks to the high stall converter with generous torque multiplication, and have low stall for crusing and freeway use. Here are two articles that I put together with some information.

We took about 2000 photos while on our Power Tour adventure this year. I have finally managed to get them somewhat sorted out and thanks to the new yahoo servers that I have moved the site to, I can share them with you. Click here for the 2004 Power Tour Picture Gallery.

The Formula D event at Irwindale has inspired the whole editorial staff here at the Hot Rod Homepage and we have decided to put together a car and team to go out and compete in next years Formula D Events. The time has come to put together sponsors and build a car. If you or your buisness are interested in more information on becoming a sponsor for this project send e-mail.
8.29.2004Formula D @ Irwindale Speedway
I spent the entire day down at the Irwindale Speedway watching a Formula D event. I think that drifting is only in its infancy and still open to new drivers and teams. The cars are mostly Japanese imports, but some domestics are making inroads. Although they sufferend an unfortunate crash in practice that took them out of the competition for the day, BubbaDrift campains a 80's GMC El Camino. I snapped almost a thousand pictures with the new Canon S60 (a great camera by the way) and hope to have them up on the site in the next couple of days. Until then this will have to do.

I posted a basic wiring schematic for a VP TH-400 Transmission as well as an article that I wrote some time ago that details exactly what a switch pitch is. I have been running the car with the VP 400 in it for some time and have nothing but good things to say about it. I run a step rear gear (3.08) so the high stall really helps that car get off the line, but when I am crusing down the road I can switch to low stall mode for better efficiency and sharper throttle response. I took the car to LACR and played around with the setup a bit and I found that I got my best E.T. and MPH if I left the car in high stall until the top of first gear then switched it into low stall mode.
8.20.2004Formula Drift 1969 Camaro
The Japanese sensation that is sweeping across the USA. Drifting has been around in Japan for quite some time, but is just now starting to find a large audience here in the United States. The sport is currently dominated by Japanese Imports, but there are several projects in the works to bring some American Iron to the series. Big Block V8 are well suited for inducing rear wheel spin, and with the proper suspension upgrades many older domestics can hold there own on a road course. This makes some of old Detroits finest specimens well suited for Drifting. Here is a sneek preview of a 1969 Camaro that is being prepared to compete in the Formula D series.
8.4.2004Carb Tuning For Fuel Mileage
I am currently in the midst of trying to get my carburetor tuning knowledge up to snuff. It is a messy project and there will be wrong turns, but hopefully I will emerge with a little more know how when it comes to determining the proper mix of fuel and air. Click on the picture of the red Malibu at the top of the page to open a google search page.

Personally I can not get enough automotive related books. For about the last year I have been getting a new book every month as I find it a lot cheaper to buy a book and read up on things before I go out and buy new parts for the projects. You will almost never go wrong spending some time educating yourself about a different aspects of the automobile.

We would like to say thanks to all the wonderful people who made the 2004 Power Tour such a great event. I though we were crazy for driving 4000 miles with 3.73 gears and no overdrive, but I just found out that they were 4.11 gears. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
