1978 - 1983 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon
Since I laid eyes on the Worlds Fastest Fairmont Wagon back in 2004, I have been on a quest of sorts. I had a few other projects that I needed to wrap up first, but fast forward to 2008 and you will find my 1964 Malibu SS is restored and my 1990 Mustang GT has transformed into a race car. The time has come for me to find a Fairmont wagon and build my next dream car.
At this point I am not sure if the car is going to get a turbo 5.0 Ford or an LS1, but I do know what I want to do with the suspension, Interior, and exterior of the car. I had a professional concept artist prepare the image below to keep me motivated.

If you know where I can find one of these wagon, in particular a Ford Fairmont Squire Wagon like the one in the picture above, send me an email. geoff@hotrodhomepage.com.
Chevelle Stock Cars
I came across these pictures a while back as I browsed around the Internet looking for automotive inspiration. I styled my 1964 Malibu SS with NASCAR inspiration, but these things are the real deal. Old race-car picture have a certain magic to them.

A couple of bad ass 1966 Chevelles fighting for position on the bank.

Notice the rolled front fenders and cut rear quarter panels. All in the name of fitting huge slicks.

I’d be smiling too, standing next to that monster.

I know that modern NASCAR spindles are derived from old b-body units with gigantic bearings and stout spindle pin, but what are these things? The look like something off a 1-ton truck.

Look at how much more trimming was done on the fenders of the 1964 Chevelle compared to the 1966 shown above. This is probably because the 1966 Chevelle has quite a bit more room in the wheel wells for tire. I can barely snug a 255 section width on the rear of my ‘64, but my ‘66 fits a 275 with not problem.

So do you think I managed to pay proper homage to the race-cars of old with my Malibu?

Pro Street Romania - Nevoie De Viteza
Dacia 1310 takes on Lada 1.3 GTX Turbo in an epic Street Race! I don’t know who created this video, but it is so good that it makes me jealous of both their ability to spin automotive satire, and their filmmaking abilities. Check out their homepage at www.prostreetromania.ro.
Dyno Burnout!
So the Buick GNX has long been a fascination of mine. Ever since I first laid eyes on one back in 1987 I have known deep down in my heart that I will eventually own one. Until that day comes, I will be forced to simply enjoy the amazing scream that this TT GN makes on the dyno.
The Heart of the 2009 Corvette “Blue Devil”
It appears that 500HP is no longer enough, the LS9 is a supercharged version of Chevrolets 6.2L LS3 V8 that we can expect to see in the 2009 zR-1 Corvette. Rumors on the Internet have the mill producing north of 650HP. I still have fond memories of the wanton desires that I had for the last zR-1 Corvette back in the era of the c4 body designation. Maybe by the time that these new zR-1’s are a decade old, I will have enough money to pick on up.
