November 1st, 2005 Posted in | Comments Off

The 1969 Camaro has been retired from professional drifting due to funding issues, but I will keep this page up for those looking to learn a bit more about this magnificent car.

Punk Rock, Gasoline, And Fire

Driven by Ryan Hampton of Team Falken this 1969 Camaro is powered by a 468 cubic inch (7.6 liters for you metric guys) big block Chevrolet engine. The Camaro is owned by BlackTop Rodeo Racing will compete in the Formula D Series. It made the last two events of 2005, but mostly for fine-tuning and testing purposes. Taking a car that is almost 40 years old and updating it to compete with modern performance cars was a massive undertaking, but this car in its completed form is something to behold. Be on the lookout for this car in 2006.

The car was featured in Hot Rod Magazine and the Los Angeles Times.
